Sometimes I miss something... This is my old studio. I do not miss Arizona, but I miss my old studio.

Breaking glass

Tomorrow we are breaking down the glass studio. I have been down there since March and it's time. It's $230 a month and it's been great but time to down size. I did rent a new storage space today for $50 a month. But it will be to keep boxes and studio furniture. And anything else that clutters the house too much. It will also help my brain focus on the task at hand of staging the house to sell. Plus whatever is going to be sold after we move by my friend Peggy.

I have been doing oil paintings a little. I was really inspired in Portland. I keep forgetting I am not a realistic painter. I kinda hate it. For my own work I prefer a looser style. Funny how one forgets the obvious. I also have been thinking of finding a life coach or get my astrological chart done. I need some guidance. Sigh, so much to do....

I've been painting and it feels great! Scott is so supportive. The house is overflowing with chores, but I can't get to them. If I pick up everything, I won't be left with any energy to paint.

My new fantasy is building a barn with living quarters in the farmlands of Portland. I want to paint LARGE. I want ample space to create. I am tired of living in suburban neighborhoods with teeny rooms for a studio.

While I paint, I relive the moment my dad told me he threw my mothers ring into the water. Strange to end a marriage while marrying the sea.

To mark All Soul's Night I took a ride with Baba, in her black swan, to the Isle of the Dead and met the Queen of the Serpents who guards the entrance to the underworld. I took a small vile of pure Castalian Water, collected at Delphi and we drank to creativity. The Serpent has blessed all travellers on the Soul Food Silk Way.

I am thinking about Joseph Cornell and taking the next step. I am thinking of working with little boxes that hang on the wall. Something more like flattened altars that are filled with little objects.

I want to paint my personal stories. I do believe I will succeed. Day by day is the only way. Each brush stroke is a step in the right direction. I have much fear, but I must follow the path that is laid before me. I visualize positive energy all around me. I close the door to voices that do not help my goals. Smiling to myself can be a very effective.

Cleaning day

Unfortunately, today is a house cleaning day and it's already dark. So finish up quick and before I go to bed I will clean my desk and prepare my Crow's Nest Studio to begin painting tomorrow. Set up the music, open the window, make sure all the supplies (incense, lighter, paper towels, clean brushes, clean palette, empty trash can) are lined up and ready to go!

Meditating at the Crossroads

I have arrived near a glade and I am sitting at the crossroads meditating upon my future directions. I am wearing green to represent my connection to the earth. Note that all my important symbols are present.

Pegasus, winged horse of my beloved Muse, upon whose wings of imagination I fly,
The Raven to my right, bringing messages from around the world
A cup of Castalian Water from Delphi Greece, the waters of creative inspiration
A graceful black swan, a true Australian
The limb of a Cypress, my tree, is ever present
and last but not least,
Statement beads, helping to express my an artistic side.

Guide me wise Gusari! Help me choose a pathway that will nourish my creativity. Tell me what I need to release in order to move forward toward my destiny.
